Teacher Learning Circles
Assessment
Goal: Participants demonstrate their understanding of TLC goals and principles
Role: Establish a sustainable plan for the continuation of TLC meetings
Audience: TLC group, future teachers/peers
Situation: TLC group must develop a plan for continuing meetings after training is concluded.
Product/Performance: TLC groups are responsible for creating a sustainable “Action Pan” for the continuation of TLC meetings in their school or community over the next 12-week period. Using the TLC framework, participants formulate themes and content for each session. In addition, each individual write a 2-3 page reflection on how the group’s “Action Plan” reflects TLCs values, principles and goals.
Participants are asked to reflect on various prompts related to the themes discussed in the preceding session. The trainer will be able to assess participants’ understanding of main concepts. Each participant receives and utilizes a TLC Workbook with a reflection menu for their journal entries. participant can choose from a number of different forms of reflections each week based on their needs, the content introduced and their learning styles. The reflection menu will include:
-
